"I began as a student of the Raja Yoga method under the compassionate guidance of Michele and Mehrad over 15 years ago and was certified 10 years ago. They taught me balance, breath, tenacity, and commitment. These lessons were invaluable as I completed my training to become a psychologist. Their ability to provide an environment for me to plant my spiritual roots was essential. The experience of being a yoga teacher is vital to me. Michele and Mehrad’s dedication to their students is immeasurable. They love what they do, so you can love what you do."

"I am forever grateful to Mehrad and Michele for the quality training I received from them. They are more than teachers, they are spiritual family and mentors that continue to support and nurture long after "training" is over. I highly recommend the Raja Yoga teacher training program because of the authenticity, and Michele and Mehrad's careful attention to developing a well rounded teacher that is prepared and confident."

2015 RAJA YOGA ADVANCED STUDIES & TEACHER TRAINING
For twenty years our certified teachers have been selected by invitation based on their commitment to their spiritual growth, their personal yoga practice, and their desire to share these teachings with others. In 2015, we will be offering a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training Program at our beautiful La Jolla cottage studio for committed yoga students who wish to advance their studies, deepen their practice, and/or teach.
This dynamic spiritually-based program offers a comprehensive and balanced approach to the ancient tradition of Raja Yoga inclusive of all of the yogas, and its practical application to modern living. As a certified yoga teacher you will emerge from the program with a new life perspective, clarity, strength and the knowledge and skills to share these teachings with others.
In this authentic Raja Yoga program, hatha yoga will also have special emphasis. The fluid, breath-based asanas or poses have a dynamic place in your training for the purpose of proper alignment, tension release, and clarity of mind to fine-tune your body/mind instrument. The asanas are studied and practiced as a part of the complete eight-fold path of Raja Yoga for the purposeful evolution of consciousness.
The curriculum is equally strong in providing you with the experience and skills to teach the inner practices of yoga: pranayama, meditation, mantrum yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, nada (sound) yoga and the chakra system. You will learn their place in spiritual unfoldment, and how to skillfully bring them into an asana-based yoga class.
As the ten weekend program unfolds, you will be encouraged to find and express your own unique voice, develop confidence in your inner wisdom and emerge transformed---a strong and inspired yogi and teacher.
